Crisp House Collingwood

Navigating heritage classification and dilapidated condition, Crisp House emerges as a restored gem with a comfortable and spacious contemporary addition. With restoration and heritage at the forefront of the design process, the new addition is artfully concealed by making use of the existing angle and dimension of the original cottage. The pre-existing horizontal timber weatherboard meets the vertical ironbark shiplap of the extension, accentuating a playful intermingling of natural materials that continues throughout the design. The interiors, finished in a variety of timbers, brass and cement, are enhanced by extensive glazing, north-facing skylights, and large sliding doors, which open up onto new outdoor space, strategically located on the roof.
